I think that unicorns and jelly beans are lovely. & that keeping creepy crawlies as a pet is not cool.
I like smiles too (:

My Excursion to: SCIENCE CENTRE
TGIF! i need a break from all the stress caused by schoolwork. and i'm finally realising my dream - the Da Vinci exhibition, with Haniza! we got this package which consist of entries to Science Centre, DV's Exhibit & Imax Omnitheatre for $24 (:
that moment: i can't wait to dash into the exhibition HA
Stop #1: Imax Omni Theatre
that's our tickets. we chose an Imax movie on Sea Monsters [the prehistoric sea creatures]
we were strolling along the route to the theatre & took photos to kill time
there was a display of Vincent Van Gogh's artpieces & in the middle of all those paintings, we found this!
it's a small space [was it his room?] with just a few pieces of furniture. and the chair that i was sitting on was one of his painting. (:
actually, photography wasn't allowed inside the theatre but we were too excited haha
the theatre is made up of a 5-storey dome screen, seating configuration, digital sound system and supports large format films. so it's basically super awesome to watch the flim!
and they showed us the mechanics of everything, that was behind the screen! FREAKING COOL PLEASE!
Stop #2: DV's Exhibition
photography was not allowed inside :(
anyhow, the displays inside were magnificant. even though they were only replicas of the original ones, they look as good as the originals. things that i learnt about Leonardo: 1. whenever he wrote, he'd start from the bottom of a page, upwards & from right to left. [reason: he was left-handed, so he did that to prevent smerging] 2. he wrote his alphabets backwards. so you can only read the words properly through a mirror reflection [reason: he made reading harder thus, preventing people from stealing his ideas] 3. he liked guys company more, that's why he was never married 4. he died of stroke 5. HE'S TOTALLY OUT OF HIS MIND TO BE SO CURIOUS/INNOVATIVE/IMAGINATIVE/PRECISE!!
the exhibition displayed things like his codices [notebooks], paintings & inventions. the main focus of the exhibit was Mona Lisa. they discovered 25 secrets that was not seen-able just by looking at the original coloured painting. they made black & white and infrared copies to compare with the coloured ones. one of the discoveries: Mona Lisa do have eyebrows! HA
OH and in the Last Supper Painting? the person on the right-hand side of Jesus is a guy - John! all along, i thought it was a female heh
P.S. the paintings at the exhibit were photographs of the originals, but the cameras used were those extrodinary/professional-est ones, thus making them look really authentic.
Stop #3: Science Centre we didn't get to try out everything because we were left with an hour before they close :/ but we managed to play with quite a few displays.
Optical Illusions:
see the man in the top-middle of the picture? it's actually a reflection of this messy-nonsensical image, cast on a metal pole.
this is simply making it seems like you can walk in & out of the crate easily without opening any of the sides
there is a metal cone in the middle. so by looking directly above the cone, a smaller unicorn will appear rightside-up (:
I LIKE THIS (LAUGHS)
(;
it's a smoke generator! by pushing the middle section, a ring of smoke will appear (: [my face?!]
WATCH THESE!
The Cat Run
Vertical Waves
Strobe Fountain [i like this!!]
SUPER COOL RIGHT? The explanation below:
Jacob's Ladder
it started off as just electricity & it combusted into flames.
Magnetic Field
there's a big magnet underneath this black liquid [ionised iron]. the movement of the magnet will cause these spike-like ripples to appear.
i didn't know that there was a marine section in Science Centre HAH
this are displays of corals
and we spotted a not-yet-puff-up pufferfish!
and this is how it looks when its puffed..
HAH
The Energy Section
this is a DoDo!
the sentence above me: "Enter this space to experience greenhouse effect" actually, the temperature inside is much cooler than the weather in Singapore. poor us.. HA
this is the fella who came up with the Pythagoras theory - Pythagoras of Samos
spotted this T-rex model on our way home..
and it was asleep HA
we were totally beat when we got onto the MRT but it was an awesome excursion! (: P.S. we looked like tourists please, taking photos everywhere we go, point at things with fascinated eyes.. HA
